I also noted that you have to really tweak the mouse sensitivity in the in-game config screen. If you don't do the sensor setup thing when you move your head it moves in an 'arc' which looks weird and some people have commented that this motion makes them sick. Since you are sitting using a mouse/kybd if you config the sensor setup the head-tracking works pretty well. Issues as noted aside, such as the cut-scenes (you can skip with space-bar) it's actually very good. It probably sounds more complicated than it really is, especially after you do it once or twice, it's no big inconvenience. Otherwise for a seated experience you feel like your sitting at chair height in the game. Also, you have to input your height as 4' 0" so that you are at eye level with the other characters.

I didn't have to unplug either of my two sensors but I did have to go into just the 'Sensor config" in Oculus software and just put the controller by my eye where I wanted to keep my physical head and it works great. First off, the only thing I had to do was run the game once and config, close game and then modify the video.scr file to hook the oculus upon running. I just picked it up on sale and thought I'd give it a try. I too have been digging around looking for recent feedback re: DL with VR. And exposure in VR to your fears is a good way to help overcome them I think the guy you were replying to mostly just had a fear of heights, which is a relatively common issue (have and continue to face) which causes vertigo, but isn't the medical condition of having vertigo. VR, like a great of heights, crates vertigo symptoms, so I think having vertigo as a condition would make that even worse, but I do wonder if it might be usable as a treatment option going through some easier transitions than leaping off buildings to start. Vertigo as a medical condition, where you get the feeling on solid ground actually would probably make VR near unplayable.īut then again, the way it's healed naturally is by the brain learning to compensate for the irregularity from what your inner ear is saying, which is something many people overcome with initial issues (I never had bad VR legs, but it's common) (Disclaimer, I'm not a doctor, just passing the medical link below as I understand it) It can definitely help with fear of heights, which can create vertigo because your fear makes you believe you're higher than you are which your inner ear of course disagrees with.
